A group of guys – whose composition changes from trip to trip – get together roughly once a year to do a trip through southern Africa.  Sometimes the trips are just for long weekends and sometimes they are for several weeks. The travelling members fluctuate depending on availability of leave and pink tickets from wives, girlfriends and partners (not necessarily in that order).

Trips over the years have included Botswana, Mozambique and South Africa.  The current trip in planning will include Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi. The group travels in 4×4 vehicles and prefers to explore the areas less travelled with camping the primary method of overnight accommodation.

The route is normally plotted and stuck to but the actual time spent in each area is loosely planned up front and is at the mercy of the group – if we are chilling and enjoying a spot we will often remain for an extra day or two.
